An improper theology leads to improper doxology and denies God the praise due to Him. This is why it is essential to have a right theology. Acceptable worship comes from an accurate and high view of God. To properly praise God, He alone must be given the glory. The doctrine of Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the glory) is trampled upon by wrong views of salvation. If salvation is accomplished in part by God and in part by man, it follows that man would get some of the glory. But God alone can be credited with that accomplishment. As Romans 11:36 says, from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
The doctrine of Soli Deo Gloria is the logical outpouring of right theology. God created and sustains everything in the universe. Everything from nature, to galaxies, to Heaven and Hell and all that is within them owes its existence to Him. It was all made for His pleasure and glory. Nothing has ever happened that was outside of His plan; No reformation, no regeneration, no giving over a man to his own sinful desires has occurred in deviation from His will. While God is not the origin of sin, sins (and everything else that occurs, every detail of all that is in existence) are orchestrated for His glory. This, of course, holds true for salvation. God the Father gave His only Son. Likewise, He sent the Spirit to regenerate and sanctify. He predestined all who would be saved and He prepared all the good works believers would do beforehand. It is all from Him. It is for this reason that all glory goes to Him.
Soli Deo Gloria.
